2. Did Mr. Rocco deserve to be recalled? Was he hurting the school district, or is he simply a nuisance?

3. Why was Mr. Rocco elected? Are voters are lazy? Or did most voters make the best decision they could, given the failure of the press to cover the race and Rocco's inaccurate ballot designation? that was available to them? Are "people" the problem, or "the system"?

4. Why do the media lavish attention on national races but largely ignore contests for local office?

5. Can you think of ways in which local politics (school board, city and county government) affect our lives more directly more than Washington?

6. School Board members work 20 or more hours a week. The pay is $750 per month, and all the abuse you can stomach. Would you take this job? What changes--if any-- do we need to ensure that qualified members of our community serve in these vital positions?

8. Some people like Mr. Rocco because he is "giving it to the Man!" What, exactly, does Mr. Rocco stand for? Does he effectively challenge the status quo?

9. What are the consequences for public policy of a disengaged electorate?

10. What did the Registrar of Voters mean when he said that his office is not a "policing agency"? Should it be?
